Warwick Castle aka Harry Potter Awesomeness

This weekend the family and I went to Warwick Castle which was just outside of London and it was awesome. One of the best trips so far. Windsor Castle wasn't the biggest castle in the world or the most stunning inside but it was definitely awesome because there were scenes of Harry Potter shot there. I believe they shot just mainly on the grounds of Warwick Castle and not any inside scenes. They shot the inside scenes of Harry Potter at Oxford University, which I would like to tour as well.

While walking through the castle we had a good time taking pictures with the life-size action figures that they had throughout. We went on the "Ghost Tour" and this crazy woman told stories of the Ghosts throughout the castle. There was dungeons, shows, a peacock garden, climbing to the top of the tower and fine dining. It was the ultimate castle experience. Honestly my favorite part was purchasing old ancient maps of Spain, Italy and Paris but that's just me.... Definitely a recomendation if you are with little ones.

This owl could fly up to 70 mph and we saw him fly! 

Ashtyn got a really good kick out of the peacocks at the peacock garden.

One of THOSE Days

It's just one of those ----->sit at home with a cozy blankie, a warm sweater, fuzzy socks and sip tea while looking at dreamy and inspiring photos because you're feeling grouchy and moody and lonely and all you wanna do is listen to 6th grade playlists of Bon Iver, Coldplay and Secondhand Serenade while eating everything you see in sight<----- days

Yup, it's one of those days. 

First day of School!

Yesterday was the girls' first day of school.

From what they told me, it is waaaay different than American schools. They go to a public British school and for one, they have to wear uniforms.They have a weird schedule where they have a completely different set of classes every single day. When you move onto "high school" you pick classes with the same subject and you stay with it, kind of like college where you pick a major and take classes that correspond with that major. Ashtyn and Rylee go to the same school and they both agreed that American schools are much better.. lets just say the British kids here are VERY disrespectful.

I'm very grateful that I've lived and grown up in the country that I did. Living here has really made me realize that. Of course I love living here because it's England and its the most beautiful country in the world but in America everything is so convenient. I have missed being able to run to the Taco Bell that is 7 minutes away from my house at 2 in the morning or having a car to be able to drive to work everyday which is only 10 minutes away. A lot of people have to take the train to go to work because gas is so expensive and most people work in London. Speaking of London, we get to go in 1 week! I am soooo stoked.
